Set up in 2001, the Dot NAME extension is the only one intended for personal websites only. These domains can be personal or fictitious names, nicknames and/or other labels people are popular by. At the beginning, just third-level registrations were permitted, so if you wanted to order john.doe.name, you were supposed to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration procedures were loosened and 2nd-level registrations were also allowed. Existing 3rd-level names remained functional.

You will be able to edit the WHOIS info, to park your domain, to modify Custom DNS records, etc. You can also move over an already registered domain to our company if you obtain its EPP transfer authorization code from the present registrar and we will renew it after the transfer has been completed. There are no specific conditions on who can get a .NAME domain name, but in order to keep the concept behind its establishment alive, the Registry organization may check who the owner is and if there is no relation between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration might be challenged.
